May the lilt of Irish laughter
Lighten every load.
May the mist of Irish magic
Shorten every road,
May you taste the sweetest pleasures
That fortune ere bestowed,
And may all your friends remember
All the favors you are owed.
The Dooner name is Irish and is rare and is mainly confined to Roscommon and Leitrim Counties. In Irish it is O Dunabra or O Donnabhair and is derived from the two Irish words "donn" and " abhra" which means "brown eyebrows". I am looking for any information on the name Dooner and it's history. I would like to know about any links with the name even if it's small. I have information on my family back to John Dooner who we believe came to Australia on the James Matheson, but after that I lose my way. I have some information that others have sent me on other branches and I hope to find a connection.
John Dooner came to Australia from Ireland and had three sons, Edward, Martin and Patrick(born 1885).

Thomas Henry Dooner was born 4/11/1899 in Braidwood, NSW and passed away 9/12/1953. He married Edith Lynch on 16/7/1905 and they had 9 children. The children were Kathleen, William, Gwenth, Eris, Thomas, Doreen, Joan, Leonard and John.
John Francis Dooner was born 26/6/1945 and married Leonie Nicholls 18/5/1968. They have 5 children, Michael, Paul, John, Mark and Samantha.
I am Michael Dooner.
If you have any information on the name then I would love for you to pass it on. I have some information on the other branches if you are interested. Just drop me a line.
I have just started some family trees for the web. There are three sections. The first is my family tree. The second is one I have pieced together from information I have been sent. The third is for the snipets I have received but have not really lead anywhere as yet. If there are mistakes or more information you can pass onto me then I would be grateful. I'm sure we will be related somehow.
