CHARLES O GUISTE
(1882-1958)

Charles O Guiste, 76, of Kent (OH), died today (October 18) in Akron General Hospital.  He suffered a stroke three weeks ago.  Born March 19, 1882, in Indiana, PA, the son of William and Eliza Roof Guiste, he was a resident of North Jackson from 1904 to 1947 when he moved to Akron.  He was a painter by occupation and was employed by the State Game Conservation Dept until 1947 when he retired.  Mr. Guiste was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Indiana Co, PA.  He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith, N Jackson and Mrs. Cora Miner,
Warren;  and a brother, Harry Guiste, of Warren (OH).  Funeral services held at Lane Funeral Home in Mineral Ridge, OH with interment in North Jackson Cemetery.


MRS. ANNA ELIZA (ROOF) GUISTE
(1858-)

Mrs. Anna Eliza (Roof) Guiste, North Jackson, mother of Harry Guiste and Mrs. Thomas (Cora) Miner of this city (Warren), passed away at her home at N Jackson, death following a seven weeks' illness of complications.  She was the wife of the late William Guiste (Giste).  Mrs. Guiste was a resident of N Jackson and vicinity for the past thirty years, coming there from Pennsylvania.  She was a member of the N Jackson Federated church.  Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John (Catherine) Roof.  She was born at Austintown, OH March 27, 1858.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Miner, Warren;  Mrs. Mary Wilson, North Jackson; two sons, Charles of N Jackson and Harry of Warren;  a brother, Fred Roof of Diamond, OH;  eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services held at the home in N Jackson with burial in North Jackson (OH) Cemetery.


HARRY EMMETTE GISTE
(1894-1967)

Harry Emmette Guiste, 72, of Warren (OH) died of complications following a six month illness.  Born July 22, 1894 in Parkwood, PA, he was the son of William M. and Anna Eliza (Roof) Guiste.  A resident here forty-three years, he was employed as a clerk by Republic Steel Corp for 38 years, retiring in 1961.  A veteran of World War I, he was a member of First Methodist Church and VFW Post 1090.  Survivors include his wife, May M Guiste, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Smith of N Jackson.  A brother and sister preceded him in death.  Services held at Carl W Hall Funeral Home in Warren (OH) with burial in North Jackson Cemetery.

MRS. MAY M HALLETT GISTE
(1901-1990)

Mrs. May M Giste, 89, of Warren, died Wednesday (July 12) in Community Skilled Nursing Home.  Mrs. Giste was born May 23, 1901 in Townsville, Australia, the daughter of George Arthur and Anna Eliza Mitchell Hallett.  Her husband, Harry E Giste, died Feb 22, 1967.  She came to the United States in 1904 and had lived here since 1914, coming from Grove City, PA.  Before retiring in 1963, Mrs. Giste had worked for US Gypsum Co for 24 years.  She previously was employed by Federal Machine and Welding Co for 22 years.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Women's Bowling League, and was a 25 year Red Cross volunteer.  Survivors include three nephews and a niece.  A sister, Mrs. Lilly Filler, died in 1983.  Burial for Mrs. Giste in N Jackson Cemetery.
